Chris Merkl, of Blue Moon Estate Sales, held our estate sale the first weekend of May and we will be forever grateful. We had been unable to find anyone with an opening for at least another month or two and Chris offered us the early May date because someone had postponed their sale. He explained his policy in great detail and showed immense understanding of the stress families often are experiencing. He was very creative in staging the rooms they set up for displaying the sale items, with each area following a certain theme. I can not think of a single thing I would have wanted him to do differently

Chris was pleasant and professional in all of our dealings with him. He was sensitive to emotions we had over the recen sale of our home and the need to get rid of things so we could move into an apartment. He and his staff staged our possessions in the best possible light. For example I love how an album of Saturday Evening Post Covers were displayed atop a vintage hi-fi for a total antique look. There were some welcome surprises. We were previously told by an appraiser that an old WWII knife was only worth $5.00. We got $150.00 for it in the sale! An old vise at the end of a workbench that was there when we bought the house was removed and sold for a good amount of money. We never thought of it as something that could be sold. I would say the sale was successful. Everything proceeded as promised and we received a check today less than a week after the sale. A great experience!

I met Chris a few months before organizing the estate sale. He visited my location and took the time to walk me through the entire process, even making an additional effort to meet with my brother as well. His team, Cynthia and Lisa, handled everything with exceptional care. They meticulously sorted and organized all the items from my mom's estate, from researching art pieces to thoughtfully arranging her cherished collection of chickens. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness truly stood out. I can't recommend them enough. They captured stunning photos of each item, meticulously cataloging my mother's life with care and respect

I am so impressed with Blue Moon. The fantastic job that they did, allowed me to long-distance manage the estate sale of a family property with complete confidence. I found Chris and his team efficient, reliable, and professional in every aspect of the project. Even the neighbors commented on how careful and hard working the crew was. I would recommend them whole heartedly and my only regret is that they are not here in my city to work with again.

They have good sales and are helpful. I do find their online presentations a bit cumbersome to navigate, as they take way too many pictures, often several of one thing so there are so many pictures it takes a long time to see everything in order to decide if this sale is something you want to go to.

I really can not say enough good things about Chris and his team! I talked to a total of 4 other companies before I made my decision to go with Blue Moon. Chris was very good about getting back to me and was so supportive of the emotional aspect of the service. He was able to prepare me for some of the tough and emotional challenges before they even happened. Seeing the beautiful pictures of the estate sale and the time and thoughtfulness they put in to the details of it put my mind at ease that he was the best choice for the job. I was blown away at how good of a job they did and the respect they had for us as clients and all of my parents possessions! I will hands down recommend this company to anyone needing this service. Chris and his Blue Moon Estates crew worked their butts off on a very labor intensive sale and over delivered impressive results despite challenging weather conditions during the weekend sale. Chris was excellent to work with and was always flexible and responsive to any and all questions. They take a lot of pride in their web site photos and this made it easier for potential shoppers to see what was really there. I would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.

Outstanding results and service! Chris and his crew were indispensable when my brother and I were faced with downsizing our parents and their accumulated belongings of 60+ years. Chris gave us hope when so many others said no, and the results exceeded our expectations. Our parents possessions and home were treated with great respect and care, and Chris and his team took the time to research special collectibles, market them appropriately, and arrange them in an inviting manner. Additionally, Chris provided several recommendations for post sale options in the final clean out. We can not be more happy about our experience with Blue Moon Estate Sales. Chris and his team are professional, friendly, and more than competent at what they do.They came in and set our home up for a sale due to downsizing a large house, finished basement, basement, outdoor space, shed and garage. HIs set up, marketing and skill with the sale were amazing, and we were delighted with how well the sale went. He was mindful of keeping the home in good repair as large items were removed and keeping control of the number of people in the house at a given time. There is nothing they did that we feel could be improved on. The stress of downsizing was well managed by Blue Moon Estate Sales and we can’t recommend them highly enough

Chris from Blue Moon and his staff are amazing! They are very professional and most of all “respectful”of your loved one’s “treasures”! They displayed everything in room by room themes and made it very organized and inviting for shoppers! They handled my mom’s huge yard and fabric collection with care and respect. Most of all, I appreciated Chris’s very kind demeanor. He prepared me mentally for what to expect regarding the physical changes to the home and emotional feeling I might experience, as we went through the sale process. Chris and Blue Moon Estate sales handled my Father's estate sale. Chris was great and very informative through the entire process. Having never done this before receiving that additional guidance was very helpful as I worked through the many ups and downs of the estate process...at least this part went smoothly! Chris and I chatted about who my Dad was and what some of his stuff meant to me and my Dad. Taking that extra time to get to know who you are working for is a rare thing in this world and in this industry. When initially looking for someone to handle our estate sale, we reached out to 4 companies, 2 never responded...we met with 2 others. When we met with Chris from Blue Moon we were immediately struck by his enthusiasm, energy, client focus and detailed responses to our questions. Blue Moon's pricing structure was different than the other company and for a small sale would likely be more expensive, but for a larger sale was comparable. Although Chris couldn't guarantee the size of the sale, we selected Blue Moon because of our confidence in Chris...and he didn't disappoint. He was attentive to our needs and concerns, friendly, courteous, efficient, flexible, knowledgeable and laser focused on making the estate as successful as possible. We were extremely pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend him to anyone planning to have an estate sale! Thank you, Chris!!

Chris and Blue Moon are the best part of this process. I live in Texas and my dad lived in Canandaigua. Dad came for a visit, Covid happened, etc I had to move items here (I’ve was scammed by moving company), sell his house, and various terrible people took advantage of the situation and me which made this process harder than it should have been. I thought I was ready emotionally, but nothing could have prepared me.. I was given Chris’s number and from the start Chris and his staff have not only comforted me, but helped me enormously! They have supported me, and guided me through (this which has been a nightmare). God bless them.😇. They did a great job advertising, preparing, and handling the estate sale for me I highly recommend them ❤️

Blue Moon, specifically Chris, was amazing at handling my moms estate sale when she sold her house. He kept in constant contact throughout the process and after. We had the payment within four days of the sale with a spreadsheet giving a breakdown of the dollar amount sold in each category. They kept the house clean and orderly the entire time they were setting up and cleaned up after the sale ended. The process was interesting and amazing. They even allowed me to stop by during the set up to see how they worked. It was very intriguing. They helped make this a smoother transition for my mom considering it was a very difficult decision for her to sell her house. Thank you Chris and the entire staff of Blue Moon for your compassion and empathy for my mom and doing a wonderful job overall.
